Connecting at First Presbyterian Kannapolis

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:23-25, NLT)

Fellowship

Fellowship among Christians is essential in order to provide the necessary encouragement and support we need to survive in a lonely and discouraging world. In addition to the worship and educational ministries which also provide fellowship, there are special fellowship opportunities within the church. We meet regularly on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings (during the school year) for food, fun, fellowship, learning and serving.

Coffee

Each Sunday morning, everyone is invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall, between 9:30 and 9:55 a.m., for coffee & milk and a light continental breakfast (pastries, fruit, etc.). This is a great time to relax and get caught up with your friends or to make new friends. If your family is rushed on Sunday mornings, you don’t have to worry about eating breakfast before coming to church!

Wednesday Night Life

Each Wednesday, From September – May, a supper is served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. This is another great time to gather with your church family for fellowship. It also makes it much easier for individuals and families to take part in all the other Wednesday Night Life activities! The suggested donation to cover the cost of the food is $5 per person, (maximum of $20 a family). When you visit our church for the first time, you should receive a mug full of info and goodies, including a coupon to try out a Wednesday Night Meal for free. After supper, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm on Wednesdays, adults and youth gather for Bible Study, family activities, or service projects for missions and outreach.

Women's and Men's Fellowship Groups

The Men’s Fellowship meets periodically on Saturday mornings for fellowship and service. They begin with breakfast in the Fellowship Hall, then usually complete work around the church. Past projects have included spreading playground mulch, weeding flower beds, painting parking lots lines, or building maintenance.
The women of the congregation plan occasional events each year to promote both fellowship and discipleship. They also join in Women’s Circles and other groups for Bible Study and fun! Please visit our Adult Bible Studies’ page herefor more information.

JOY Group

The JOY Group (Just Older Youth) is a fellowship of senior citizens and retirees in our church. The club meets for occasional covered dish lunches–enjoying good food, good fellowship, and good programs. On other months, the group goes out to eat or takes a day trip to interesting places in the region.

Adult Bible Study

Christian Education is the Christ-centered process by which the church proclaims, instructs in, and models the Gospel, Biblical content, and the Christian life and ministry. Toward this end, First Presbyterian offers a variety of educational opportunities.

Sunday School
Traditionally, Sunday School is our primary vehicle for instruction in God’s Word. At First Presbyterian Sunday School is a family affair. Classes for children and youth can be found here (create link). Classes for adults are as follows:
