In 2011, we celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the first publication of the Authorized Version, or King James Version of the Bible in the English Language. Translations of the scriptures into English were done many years before 1611. However, it was the King James Version that made the Bible so accessible to the masses, and which remained so popular among English speakers for centuries. In this anniversary year, it is appropriate to celebrate our easy access to God's Word in our own language, and to make the best use of all the resources available to us to explore and apply that Word of God in our lives.

Part of our mission is to "know Christ," and the best way to get to know Him is through the glorious gift of God's Word. To help others study the Bible, we have compiled several resources. At the bottom of this page is an on-line Bible search program as well as a link to The Revised Common Lectionary.

Choosing a Translation - an article which examines the large number of English translations of the Bible available today; includes a brief description of the popular translations.

On-Line Bibles - links to a variety of Bibles available on-line on the Internet. Below is Bible Gateway, one such search program.

Through the Bible in a Year - links to a variety of plans for reading through the Bible in a year.

Where to Buy Bibles on the Web - links to a variety of on-line retailers of Bibles and resources for Bible study.

Click Here to visit the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s page on Devotions, focusing on the Lectionary. It includes links to the Daily Lectionary Readings, as well as to the weekly Revised Common Lectionary readings. There also are explanations of the two lectionaries, and an audio version.
