Opportunities
for Education
Christian Education is the Christ-centered process by which the church proclaims,
instructs in, and models the Gospel, Biblical content, and the Christian life and
ministry. Toward this end, First Presbyterian offers a variety of educational
opportunities.

Sunday School
Traditionally, Sunday School is our primary
vehicle for instruction in God's Word. At First Presbyterian Sunday School is a family affair. We have
classes for infants, youth, and a number of classes for adults. There are adult classes
for young adults, senior citizens, as well as classes that are more general
and inclusive. The Sunday School time begins at 9:30 a.m. with
Koinonia Kafe, a time of light refreshments and fellowship in the
Fellowship Hall. There even is a corner for the children: Expresso
Yourself Cafe. Classes begin at 10:00 a.m. A greeter in the
Fellowship Hall will be glad to assist you in choosing a class to visit. The
classes and locations are: Nursery and

PromiseLand
This is a whole new way of doing Sunday School for
children four-years old through Grade 5. Rather than having individual
classrooms, students move with their age group from one "workshop" to another
each week. The workshops include stories & games, drama, arts & crafts,
computers, and audio-visual. During each rotation of workshops they children will
study the same story, so that by the end of three or four weeks they will have examined the
same story from several different viewpoints and through several different learning
styles. This new model, called the Workshop Rotation Model, reinforces Biblical
literacy and keeps Sunday School exciting and current for the children. Click here to visit our special PromiseLand page.

Bible Studies
Several times a year a variety of
short-term (6-8 weeks) Bibles Studies are offered. These study groups meet in homes and at the church on various
days and times. Please watch the weekly bulletin for details.
The congregation is enrolled in the Disciple Bible Study
Program. This is an intensive 32 week survey of the Bible with an emphasis on God's
Word as a transforming message for today. Watch the bulletin for details about the
next class start.
