find proper lodging, the infant had to be laid in a animal feed trough. He
was worshiped by lowly shepherds and Eastern emissaries. Prophets had
fortold his birth, promising that with him a light would come into the dark
world. But who was this babe, who would grow up to be Jesus the Savior?
Pastor Darryl's Sunday morning sermons will focus on the "I AM" sayings in
John's Gospel. Through these sayings ("I AM the Bread of the World," "I AM
the Vine," etc.) we will gain a deeper understanding of who this Savior

Sunday, November 24
- we'll begin at 4:00 p.m., setting up
the Chrismon Tree in the Sanctuary. Everyone is invited to come anytime
between then and 7:30 to help decorate the Chrismon Tree and Sanctuary and
the rest of the church facilities. Childcare is available in the nursery,
4:00-6:00. A chili and soup supper will be served in the Fellowship Hall at
December 8, 6:00 p.m. - We will gather in the Fellowship Hall for a
Covered Dish Supper. Afterwards, the Kidz Khoir and youth of the church will

created by Christy Semsen. This lively musical combines delightful
storytelling, clever songs, and some spot-on spiritual truth. Bring a dish or two to share, and come enjoy
great fellowship and a fun program.
Friday, December 13, 7:00 p.m. - This
outstanding community choir will present the Vivaldi's Gloria, as
well as a selection of favorite Christmas carols and other choral pieces. In

a.m. - The Chancel Choir will present this
original compilation of Christmas songs that retell the familiar story.
Narration and brief soliloquies by Biblical characters will tie the music
together. The choral selections are drawn from several different cantatas.
The congregation will have the opportunity to join in on favorite carols.
This also is the Sunday when poinsettias will decorate the front of the
Wednesday, December 18, 4:30-5:45 p.m.
- All children, teens, and adults are invited to load up in the van and come share
your wonderful voices with some of our homebound members. We'll get back in
time for supper at the church. After supper (at 6:15), there will be a
Discovery Club Christmas Party.
Sunday, December 22, 9:30 a.m. - All the church family and friends
are invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall for an informal brunch. You
are welcome to bring something to share. Then we'll
sing some favorite Christmas carols, as we prepare to go into Worship. This event is for all ages
and will take the place of our regular Sunday School.
Monday, December 23, 2:00-6:30 p.m. - Come give one of the most
precious gifts of all--the gift of life! Hot cider and Christmas goodies (in
addition to the usual snacks and beverages) in
the Canteen! This has become a favorite destination for our community! Appointments are not
necessary, but they can expedite the registration process. Please call the

Monday, December 24, 5:30 p.m.
- What better way to begin Christmas than in church? This service will
be preceded by an extended fifteen minute musical prelude, which provides an
opportunity for families and individuals to come early and unwind before the
worship time. The service itself is an informal celebration with candles,
carols and the Christmas story (told through a simple pageant by the
children) for all ages. We will conclude with a joyous
